You Have Been Invited as a Global Pulse Trusted Contact
Someone you know has selected you as a trusted contact through Global Pulse by ExpatPostal. Global Pulse is a check-in and emergency-notification tool for people living abroad, traveling, or spending time in remote locations.
What You May Receive
Depending on the permissions selected by the user, you may receive:
- Safe check-in confirmations
- Missed check-in notices
- Assistance requests
- Emergency alerts
- Last known location information
- Trip information
- Secure status links
Global Pulse Is Not an Emergency Dispatcher
Global Pulse does not dispatch police, ambulances, firefighters, or rescue personnel. Receiving an alert does not mean ExpatPostal has contacted emergency services.
A Missed Check-In Is Not a Confirmed Emergency
A missed check-in only means that the user did not respond on schedule. You should attempt to contact the user and use your judgment concerning any further action.
An Emergency Alert
An emergency alert means the user activated the Global Pulse emergency function or another disclosed alert condition occurred. When possible:
- Review the alert.
- Attempt to contact the user.
- Review authorized location or trip details.
- Contact local emergency services when you believe it is appropriate.
- Use the acknowledgement options to tell other trusted contacts whether you are responding.
Information You May See
You will only receive information the user authorized. This may include status, alert time, last known location, telephone number, trip destination, emergency instructions, and a secure status page.
Your Contact Information
Global Pulse may process your name, telephone number, email address, relationship to the user, notification preferences, consent status, and alert acknowledgement history. Review the Global Pulse Privacy Notice for more information.
